There are filmmakers in Hamilton, in Kingston, in Port-au-Prince, in Atlanta, in London, who are telling the stories their grandmothers carried, with cameras instead of memory, and still cannot get them into the rooms where they need to be seen.

Bermuda sits at the exact coordinates where those worlds converge.

The Bermuda Black Film Weekend is the gathering that was always supposed to happen here.

We are calling the filmmakers, the directors, the producers, the writers, and the storytellers of the Caribbean, of Black America, of the African continent, and of every diaspora community that has been building its own screen culture in the margins of an industry that was not built for us.

We are calling you to Bermuda.

To stay in the room. To share what we know. To put our distribution networks, our creative vision, and our collective power on the same table and decide together what Black screen culture looks like for the next generation.
 

Because the stories of the Black Atlantic are not waiting to be discovered. They are already here. And so are the people who will tell them, fund them, distribute them, and make sure the children coming behind us inherit an industry that was built by us,
not just one we found our way into.

The stories that have been lost in the Black Atlantic are not gone. They are waiting.
